Hard times and situations come and go, just like seasons. There is always a reason even though we may not know it or ever understand it. At times it’s a downright struggle. However, there is always a lesson to be learned.
God uses these times in our life to draw us closer to Him, to help mold us into the individual that He created us to be. It’s true. When things are going well, we don’t always have the mindset that we should. We think “I did that” and we make decisions without consulting God on what He would want for us. When things are good, life moves forward and we get caught up in the day to day and lose sight that these times are gifts from God. Because things are good, we don’t always run to God and spend the time with Him that we should, building our relationship and making it stronger.
When times get tough and things are going downhill quickly … those are the times that we are going to God in prayer and crying out to Him in our pain. He uses these times to bring us closer in our relationship with Him. It’s during these times that we realize there is nothing that we can do on our own and that we need to rely on God and trust Him.
It’s hard. God pushes us. He is the potter and we are clay and He is molding and shaping us. He’s helping us to be stronger so that ultimately we will be prepared to carry out the individual purpose that He’s designed for each one of us.
It’s a struggle and I’m learning through it. I am not the same person that I once was… I’m growing in my knowledge and understanding. I’m trusting God that His plan is better and bigger than anything I could come up with and I’m praising Him through these storms… no matter what.
