I Look at the Heart

... the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. ~ 1 Samuel 16:7

1 Samuel 16:7 — But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

I know you, I know every hair on your head and I know every burden that you carry. It’s your heart that matters most of all. Your heart is the essence of who you are, it’s your innermost character. This is why I speak of your heart often. Your heart controls the rest of your body, your heart also controls your mind, determining your focus and your actions. Words spoken quickly without thought or concern are a direct reflection of your heart.

This is why I tell you to guard your heart… it’s so important. The weights you carry; your cares, concerns, burdens and doubts… these all weigh heavily on your heart. I don’t want your heart to be troubled… I want you to have a heart after Me. A heart like mine will have love and kindness for others, it will seek Me and want to know Me more and above all else, it will want to please Me. If you strive each day to please Me with all things, then you will truly be growing in knowing Me more and there is nothing greater than this… to know Me.
