Proverbs 13:3 — Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.
You have seen this first hand. You have been on both the receiving end and the giving end. The words you speak are so important, much more important than you realize. With your words you can lift someone up, encouraging and strengthening them. In the next breath, from your same mouth you can speak words that can tear them down, or hold them back and make them feel as if they’ll never be good enough or meet your expectations.
Show the love and kindness that I have shown you, no matter how you are treated, take the high road even if it appears that others get away with their harsh words. You are accountable for the words you speak. Be mindful of your state of mind and be quick to shoot a prayer out for My help… there is power in My Name, so even just a whisper can help you focus on what I might want you to say. Guard your tongue and don’t speak harsh or hasty words… these could also include promises that you may not be able to keep. Seeking Me is vital because I want blessings for you and those who speak rashly will come to ruin and I want to keep you safe and untouched from that.
